Meet Team Valle’s Coaches

Greg Emerson
Coaching for Team Valle Since 2015
After Greg graduated from HFL High School he continued his education and athletic career at the University of Rochester as a baseball and football player. His baseball coaching career began when he became the Head JV coach at Pittsford Sutherland HS, where he stayed for seven years. Greg is also the acting Treasurer for the board of Team Valle Inc.
Dan Christner
Coaching for Team Valle Since 2015
Dan was an infielder at Monroe Community College before transferring to Rochester Institute of Technology to finish up his athletic and academic career.
Yimy Rodriguez
Coaching for Team Valle Since 2014
Yimy came to the United States from Cuba when he was a sophomore in high school and attended Greece Arcadia. After high school he went to Gennesee Community College for two years and then transferred on a baseball scholarship to Peru State College in Nebraska. His senior year he was drafted as a pitcher in the 27th round by the Los Angeles Dodgers and in 2012 he made the Double A roster as a middle relief pitcher. He ended his career with a 4.03 minor league earned run average. After retiring Yimy became the pitching coach at GCC and stayed there for three years.
Alex Rodriguez
Coaching for Team Valle Since 2016
Alex graduated from Greece Arcadia High School in 2016 and is a current college baseball player at Niagara County Community College. He is a proud Team Valle Alumni with a passion for coaching and giving back to the organization that helped form him into the college player he is today.
Dave Valle
Coaching for Team Valle Since 2011
Dave was a two time 1st Team All-State and AGR player in high school he received a scholarship to pitch and play outfield at Cedarville University, a NAIA Div 1 school in Ohio at the time. He also spent a year playing at SUNY Brockport and is currently working as a NY Mets Associate Scout. He also works as a professional hitting instructor at Next Pro Training and is the founder and acting president of Team Valle Inc.
John Valle
Coaching for Team Valle Since 2011
John was drafted in the 2nd round by the Detroit Tigers organization at the age of 17 and over the course of his 13 year career, also played with the Reds and Orioles organizations. His name is in the Baseball Hall of Fame for playing in the longest game in baseball history (33 innings) and still ranks tied for 10th on the Rochester Red Wings all time home run list. Since his retirement he was a High School coach of the year, professional instructor, and has worked as a MLB scout.
